FREE. goqnotes.com Funding crisis: AIDS cuts protested A coalition of LGBT leaders, HIV/AIDS service providers and others are combining resources to plan an advocacy strategy for recent cuts in the state's AIDS drug assistance program (ADAP) for low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The push for continued funding of programs like ADAP comes at no better a time. Recently, new figures on HIV infection rates revealed increased levels of transmission and new cases. HIV/AIDS leaders say this issue must be seen as a public health crisis and hope their efforts will contribute to greater awareness in the legislature, advocates and the community at large.
